The Art of Backyard Bird Photography display for my shows, picked up at The Icon the other day. Photograph by Luis Diaz.
I made what I refer to as a public appearance recently at Bird Fest 2 at the Visitor Center for the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Center, where my bird photographs will be on display in July 2016. Photo courtesy of Kerry Perkins/NPS.
My photograph of a Ruby-throated Hummingbird will be on display at the Festival de l’Oiseau et de la Nature, over in Le Crotoy, France, from April 9-17. It’s the Festival of Birds and Nature, for those who don’t know French. What an honor. I feel like a jazzman, appreciated on the Continent.
Today I acquired this great image from Pulitzer Prize-winning photographer David Hume Kennerly. This photograph is part of David’s archive of over one million photographs, which he is currently organizing for gallery and museum exhibitions.
A number of years ago, I was asked by this great institution to provide some bird photographs and a few landscapes as a permanent display. Many celebrities and others have sat in these chairs to have their hair cut, and still do to this day. Of course, sharing the stage with Marilyn goes without saying.
