Nanday Parakeet panorama

While I was photographing the Hooded Oriole yesterday, I heard the parakeets taking off from down the street. I went outside and panned the camera along with the birds, just catching them in time. I like the trees at the left, gives it a feeling a space, yet it’s contained. Two panoramas below. Tekulsky’s Roger Tory Peterson bird photographs for display at Mass Audubon in 2016

MASS AUDUBON BROADMOOR WILDLIFE SANCTUARY—Exhibition of my Roger Tory Peterson Institute collection of bird photographs entitled “The Art of Backyard Bird Photography,” from my book BACKYARD BIRD PHOTOGRAPHY (Scheduled for 2016)

I’m very excited about this. I want the RTPI collection to travel and be seen by lots of people. Thanks to the Broadmoor for their interest in working together in 2016.

Mass Audubon’s Broadmoor Wildlife Sanctuary exhibition 2016 confirmed

Mathew Tekulsky’s exhibition “The Art of Backyard Bird Photography,” including thirty framed, signed, limited edition prints taken from his book Backyard Bird Photography, will be shown at the Mass Audubon Broadmoor Wildlife Sanctuary from April-May, 2016.

 

The Sanctuary is located at 280 Eliot Street, Natick, MA 01760, in the Boston suburbs. Phone: 508-655-2296. Sanctuary Hours: Tues-Fri 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Sat., Sun. & Mon. holidays 10 a.m.-5 p.m.

 

The collection was previously shown at the Roger Tory Peterson Institute in Jamestown, New York, from January 13 through March 8, 2015.

 

Mathew Tekulsky is the author of The Art of Hummingbird Gardening and The Art of Butterfly Gardening (both Skyhorse Publishing, 2015), as well as the column “The Birdman of Bel Air” at NationalGeographic.com.

 

He has served on the board of directors of the San Fernando Audubon Society, and he is a Partner in Tourism with the Yosemite Sierra Visitors Bureau and a member of the John Burroughs Association and The Hummingbird Society.
