An MLK sign in this portrait. Note the cross behind me.
I think Martin Luther King, Jr. would appreciate that symbolism in this portrait taken by my friend James Lee Stern, especially on Christmas.

Emily DeBolt, Communications and Public Relations, Saratoga-Capital District of the New York Site Parks, asked me for permission to use these two photos of the John Burroughs State Historic Site (Memorial Field) for their 2018 season wrap up report for the Capital District region for NYS Parks. I was glad to make the photos available for them. I love NY State Parks. My novel BERNIE AND THE HERMIT takes place in the Adirondack Park and I wrote a thesis about the ADK park for my senior year in high school. I’m awaiting offers for BERNIE as my follow-up to THE MARTIN LUTHER KING MITZVAH. I feel it’s getting close!
Tommy Chong and his lovely wife Shelby and yours truly with THE MARTIN LUTHER KING MITZVAH this morning at our favorite cafe. What a thrill for me, having listened to Tommy’s comedy on vinyl with Cheech & Chong back in 1971 at the University of Rochester. It’s great to have Tommy and Shelby in my life today. Thanks to them and to photographer James Lee Stern for taking the picture. Does it get any better than this?
