Lily was a great sport to make a portrait with the book.

My advance copies arrived on my doorstep two days ago. This photograph was taken moments after I opened the box. It is always a surreal moment when an author sees the first printed copies of his work. In this case, I lucked out. I’m in my garden, where most of the photographs in the book were taken. This book will make a nice catalogue for my exhibition at the Roger Tory Peterson Institute January 13 through March 8, 2015.
In going through my archives, I came across this gem. Check out the girl looking up at the bubbles; the woman taking her photograph at left; the men gathered around the Bubbleman sign at the right. Taj Mahal performed on the Santa Monica pier that night.
Mike here recording the event for Fox 11, KTTV-Los Angeles. The drill was held 5/18/14 for Mandeville Canyon residents.
Ramesh Venugopal (left), founder of The Icon (printing), and Ramon Valdez, founder of Fine Art Solutions (custom framing) yesterday visited me while I was signing my photographs for the Roger Tory Peterson Institute of Natural History exhibition on backyard bird photography in the Fine Art Solutions West satellite location at The Icon in Los Angeles.
This nice couple treated their son to a marquee recently to invite his girlfriend to the prom. They were nice enough to pose for this portrait, which I put under the Americana label.
